Francisco Trêpa was born in Lisbon in 1995, where he lives and works.
"My work is developed through a transdisciplinary practice, applying various methods that materialize an approach between sculpture, video, photography and painting.
I often explore strategies to render visible not only the inherent but also the produced articulations between the human animal and the non-human animal, evoking notions of perceived conquest, exhibitionism, enclosure and entrapment.
Meanings imbued in materials, commercial products and social structures, are approached critically within the conceptual framework of my practice. I am interested in crossing and tangent paths between formalism and vulnerable impulses, in a feedback process between research and practice, creating a particular micro-universe that serves as the base for bridged progressions between works." - Francisco Trêpa
