A Sacralidade da Ausência | Graça Paz

The pieces we make are always autobiographical and accompany the search for answers in the search for balance in my daily life, often intuitively. There is an energy that flows from heaven to earth, and this has been for the last three years the basis of many of my works. Art emits a frequency. A visual sonority. On the other hand, the search for the needle and thread is conscious, weaving the destiny’s thread, and in that place is where all the pieces I make in fabric are born.

This work, The Sacredness of Absence, is born in the year that is, out of the 55 that I have lived, the one in which I found myself squirming not to reach the rock bottom in the middle of an overwhelming load of new information that this thread of destiny unrolled. This work is dedicated to the unbelievable task of motherhood that is never fulfilled; it is a constant pregnancy seen from the observer’s place.
