Argemela | Rita Teles Garcia

Mining was part of Serra da Argemela's past. However, its inhabitants do not want to relive such a situation for environmental and health reasons. In a reconnaissance visit to this mountain, its beauty and richness is undeniable, whether we are talking about the hill that has a peculiar shape due to mining or whether we are more focused on the textures and colours so characteristic of the place. I had the pleasure of drawing several stones present in the landscape next to the hill. These stones, resulting from granitic rocks, others of clay schist, gave rise to a vast development of drawings that now culminate in this artwork.
